Business in Beanies

From the boardshorts of the Mentawais → to the beanies of Japan

There's a version of you the mountain is waiting to give back.

An annual gathering of founders, creators, and conscious builders who come to the deep snow of Japan to reset, recalibrate, and expand.

01An invitation, not a pitch

You already know the feeling this is pointing at.

It's the quiet that arrives after a season of giving everything to the mission. You've built things that matter. You've held the vision when no one else could. And somewhere in the holding, you stopped being held yourself.

This is not a course to consume or a network to work. It's a return - to your own clarity, your own body, your own people. A clearing in the calendar where the snow is deep, the air is clean, and the company is the kind you've been quietly missing.

02The Lineage

It began in the warm water of the Mentawais. It continues in the deep snow of Japan.

Business in Boardshorts gathered conscious founders in the surf of Indonesia - board under arm, laptop closed, real conversation rising between the waves. Armour came off, friendships formed fast and deep, and ventures were born between people who'd actually seen each other.

Business in Beanies is its winter twin. Same soul - carried from warm water to cold powder, from boardshorts to beanies. Two seasons, one tribe.

The board became a snowboard. The ocean became a mountain. The brotherhood and sisterhood stayed exactly the same.

03Why Japan, why now

A culture of depth, a mountain of snow, a season that asks you to slow down.

Myoko sits in some of the deepest, most consistent powder on earth, far from the tourist hotspots, where the culture still breathes. There is a reverence here - in the food, the onsen, the quiet ritual of daily life - that does something to an overstimulated nervous system.

We come for the powder, yes. But also for the stillness between runs, the steam of the hot springs, the meal that takes three hours because no one wants to leave the table.

04The Four Movements

Reset. Recalibrate. Expand. Play.

Every gathering moves through four movements - not a curriculum, but a natural arc the ten days carry you through.

01

Reset

Powder days, onsen nights, real sleep, real food. The nervous system finally comes down. You arrive depleted and the mountain refills you.

02

Recalibrate

In the afternoons, cocreation. Where are you really? What's the next chapter asking of you? Clarity, pressure-tested by people who've built before.

03

Expand

A room of complementary visions and skill sets. Ventures, collaborations, and possibilities you couldn't have reached alone begin here.

04

Play

The part adults forget. Deep snow, big laughs, fireside nights. Joy isn't the reward for the work - here, it's part of the method.

05The Tribe

The room is the medicine. We curate it like it matters - because it does.

This is for the founder, the entrepreneur, the brother or sister who builds from the heart - who cares about conscious creation and cocreation, who lights up at adventure, and who's drawn to Japan for the culture as much as the snow.

You'll recognise yourself here if

  • You build things that matter, and carry the weight of doing it well
  • You believe in cocreation over competition
  • You want depth and play in the same week
  • You bring a gift the room needs, and need gifts the room brings
  • You're ready to reset and reach for the next expansion

The shape of the room

Ten to twenty conscious builders with shared missions and complementary skill sets - small enough to truly meet each other, varied enough that real collaboration sparks. You don't leave with contacts. You leave with a council.

06The Rhythm of a Day

Lifestyle first. Business second. Meaning throughout.

Morning

Breakfast together, drive to the mountain, ride the powder, lunch on the slopes.

Afternoon

Return, sauna and recovery, Business in Beanies cocreation sessions, reflection.

Evening

Group dinners at the lodge, local restaurants, fireside conversations that wander somewhere real.

Throughout

Shared meals and experiences - the unhurried in-between where the friendships actually form.

07Where We Gather

A private mountain lodge, held just for us.

Miyuki Mountain Lodge - its name means beautiful fortune and deep snow - is a fully renovated eight-bedroom home, five minutes from the main street and a short reach from Myoko's interconnected resorts.

The investment

USD $5,555

Per person for the inaugural winter gathering - all-inclusive on the ground, flights and personal extras aside.

We build to connect and create meaningful experiences. The business happens naturally, multiplying and magnifying with the right people. For a full breakdown of what is included, why we price this way, and exactly where every dollar goes, see Our Pricing page.

09The Deeper Why

An annual rhythm, not a one-off escape.

What changes a life isn't the single great week. It's the rhythm - the knowing that every year, the tribe gathers, the snow falls, and you get to remember who you are beneath the building. Boardshorts in the warm season, beanies in the cold. Twice a year, the circle closes.

You came to ride. You'll leave recalibrated, expanded, and no longer building alone.

The Invitation Stands

Beanies on. The mountain is waiting.

The next step isn't a transaction - it's a conversation. Tell us who you are, what you're building, and what you're being called toward. If the fit is real, we'll hold you a place by the fire.
